Zendogholistic believes an integrative approach to illness can create the best outcomes for our patients and promote lifelong good health and wellbeing.
Dr. Maria Demello attended the University of San Diego where she received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience.
She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and followed up her clinical rotations at the University of Florida. Maria knew she wanted to be a Veterinarian at a very young age. Her determination to help animals was solidified after performing CPR on a puppy; that is the moment she vowed to dedicate her life to helping animals. Maria has been working in general practice since 2009. Her holistic education began after struggling with a zoonotic disease contracted from an animal at work. Her own health journey guided her to seek out alternative therapies in healing. When western medicine was a dead end she discovered acupuncture, herbal and supplemental therapies, ozone, and food therapy. She continues her education through Chi University learning holistic approaches while studying traditional Chinese Medicine. She has completed extra courses in Acupuncture, Food Therapy, Chiropractic, and currently Herbal Therapy. She plans on continuing her education indefinitely in hopes to provide the best care possible to pets. She is especially passionate about helping those animals where western medicine can no longer provide comfort. On her days off Dr. Demello enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She enjoys camping, hiking, sewing quilts, and walking her German Shepherd.
